Getting Organized to Get Out of Debt & Café Maria-Theresia

Are you looking to get out of debt in 2020? Let’s chat about organizing your finances.

And I’ve got just the mama to help. On this week’s episode, I’m chatting with Lauren Tucker of An Organized Life about her debt-free journey, where to start organizing your finances, and her favorite resources to help you along the way.

Lauren Tucker - An Organized Life

Lauren lives in Marin County California (aka the San Francisco Bay area) with her husband and daughter. She believes that coffee should be enjoyed piping hot, community should be celebrated and savored (both virtual and actual) and life should be led as simple as possible. Her ‘An Organized Life’ community originated out of a need for a creative outlet and to connect with like-minded people who loved and enjoyed the same thing. Over the years the social media sites and website have continued to grow and expand to reach more friends across the world.

WHERE TO START ORGANIZING YOUR FINANCES

When it comes to where you start when you want to have a budget and pay down your debt, you need to know. know what comes in. Know where it goes. And know what you owe. Take the time to figure this out so you can make changes.

Once you are aware of your finances and have created a budget for your family, Lauren recommends looking at methods of paying down your debt like the Debt Snowball and Debt Avalanche methods. You can read more about her debt-free journey and these debt paydown methods by reading her post below.

BENEFITS OF ORGANIZING YOUR FINANCES

Lauren found once she took the time to organize her finances and pay off her debt, she had a greater piece of mind. It gave her a sense of calm and a feeling of control. If you are looking for those same feelings when it comes to finances and money, be sure to check out all those resources we’ve given and connect with Lauren.

And we can’t forget today’s cocktail recipe inspired by Lauren’s love of coffee…

Café Maria-Theresia

  • 3 tbsp. orange liqueur
  • 1 tbsp. sugar
  • 8 oz. brewed coffee
  • Whipped cream, for serving
  • Grated orange zest, for garnish

Fill a coffee cup with boiling water; set aside for 3 minutes; pour out the water. Pour liqueur and sugar into the warmed cup; stir to dissolve sugar. Stir in the coffee; top with whipped cream, and garnish with zest.
