Organizing Your Travel & Raspbery Lime Tequila Cocktails

Travel Organizing Tips & Raspberry Lime Tequila Cocktails

If you’ve got travel in the near or far future, we’ve got tips for organizing your trips.

Today’s guest Kimbra Naber of ReOrg Project in Indianapolis is an expert in travel and organizing so she is the PERFECT person to chat with. One of her New Year’s Resolutions is to stick to just a carry on when she is traveling so she started the #carryonclub on Instagram to share tips AND get tips from fellow travelers.

Kimbra believes that when you have a clean and organized space surrounding you, you become lighter in weight, have more energy, and are able to accomplish more. Whether she is working alongside her client’s in their homes or teaching the tools needed to continue to simplify their lives on their own time, her organizing business ReOrg Project was born out of her own life experiences as well as her desire to shift the momentum back to valuing experiences over things.

  • When it comes to planning your trip, Kimbra recommends creating a space where you can keep all your ideas and recommendations like Pinterest board. You could pin everything from hotels and activities to weather and cost information like when it is the most affordable time to visit that place
  • Also, think outside the box when it comes to your trip. Don’t just look at hotels and resorts, Are there condos or houses for rent in the area? What about an AirBnb? Do you have credit card points you could use to cover the cost of the trip.
  • Kimbra’s number 1 tip for packing is think comfort. You can pack all the fancy things but when it comes down to it, you are going to reach for what feels best on you when it comes to dressing yourself during your down time.
  • Kimbra also recommends using the laundry facilities where you are staying versus bringing more. This could really be helpful with kids who can sometimes run through multiple outfits a day. In the end, it is way more cost effective to wash and wear than pay to have your suitcase checked.
  • My favorite packing tip is to choose your shoes first, then coordinate your outfits with those shoes. And always wear your bulkiest pair in the car or on the plane to save space.
  • Once you actually get to your destination, Kimbra recommends avoiding the temptation overplan. Be sure to schedule downtime or open space so you can enjoy your surroundings or add in activities when you get there.
  • Open yourself up to talk to people…locals or other visitors. You may just experience your new favorite vacation memory.
  • And don’t forget to use your social media for suggestions from your friends, family and followers that have gone before you.
